Successful Substitute Teaching

This is an entertaining workshop with "a tough of magic" for staff members who serve as guest teachers in our classrooms. The workshop provides information that can be used in a variety of situations to help guest teachers provide excellent education experiences when the regular classroom teacher will not be present. This workshop provides essential basic expectations to prepare substitute teachers for success. It enables students to have an optimal learning opportunity even in the absence to their usual routine and instructor. It enhances substitute experiences by ensuring groundwork is laid for classroom management and providing an understanding of common student reactions to this change in their day. It also opens the line of communication between subs and the regular classroom teacher. This workshop is a great way to welcome new substitute teachers to the district and reinforce the skills of those presently serving in the district.
